Contemporary Christian Music on Chicago Radio

Looking for some positive music and information while you’re in the car? There’s a lot more of it these days. Here is my list of great stations for your car’s presets! You can also listen to some of them on the web. If there is one available, the station’s website has been listed in the description.  The stations are listed in no particular order.

    WMBI 90.1 FM http://www.wmbi.org/
From the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, WMBI offers a mix of various types of Christian music, as well as Christian and family talk shows. Excellent morning program (news, weather, sports, music & features) from 5am-9am Monday thru Friday. Music on Saturday program (Saturday afternoons 1-5pm) offers a very good selection of Contemporary Christian Music.

    WJKL 94.3 FM http://www.klove.com/
K-LOVE Christian radio does not originate from the Chicago area. It’s a network originating from the west coast. Excellent, excellent variety of Christian music. The morning show is very enjoyable, and can get your day started off right!  I also have enjoyed a Sunday afternoon Casey Kasem-style top 20 countdown show.

    WBGL 104.7 FM www.wbgl.org
This used to be WCFL, and was merged into the WBGL family.  WCFL has been around since 1994. Unfortunately it’s based in Morris, IL, so again it’s pretty hard to get this far north. But you can also pick them up on other frequencies as you travel throughout the state.  I get them a number of times as I travel to say, Belleville or Springfield.  You can also listen online. Decent programming and music.
